Muhammad (P.B.U.H) in the Bible

Many Christians argue that Muhammad (P.B.U.H) is not a Prophet of God and that he made false claims of being that Prophet sent by God. Being a Muslim, we firmly and adamantly believe that it was not the case that God forbid Muhammad (P.B.U.H) falsely claimed to be the Messenger of Allah. Allah (S.W.T) says in the Quran:

“Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write (i.e. Muhammad S.A.W) whom they find written with them in the Taurat (Torah) (Deut, xviii, 15) and the Injeel (Gospel) (John xiv, 16), - he commands them for Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained); and forbids them from Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism of all kinds, and all that Islam has forbidden); he allows them as lawful At-Taiyibat [(i.e. all good and lawful) as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, etc.], and prohibits them as unlawful Al-Khaba'ith (i.e. all evil and unlawful as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, etc.), he releases them from their heavy burdens (of Allah's Covenant), and from the fetters (bindings) that were upon them. So those who believe in Him (Muhammad S.A.W), honor him, help him, and follow the light (the Quran) which has been sent down with him, it is they who will be successful.” Surah Al-Araf: 157
Those Christians who accuse Muhammad (P.B.U.H) to be the false messenger, failed to realize that the predictions and speculations of the coming of Prophet are mentioned in their holy book Bible by name “Muhammad” and “Ahmad”. Let’s discuss closely and discover the prophecies about Muhammad (P.B.U.H) in the Bible.
Almighty God speaks to Moses in Book of Deuteronomy Chapter 18 Verse 18
“I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.”

1. The Christians say that this prediction and prophecy refers to Jesus (P.B.U.H) because Jesus (P.B.U.H) was like Moses (P.B.U.H). Moses (P.B.U.H) was a Jew, as well as Jesus (P.B.U.H) was a Jew. Moses (P.B.U.H) was a Prophets and Jesus (P.B.U.H) was also a Prophet.
If these two are the only criteria of rejecting to believe Muhammad (P.B.U.H) in the Bible then all the Prophets of the Bible who came after Moses (P.B.U.H) such as Solomon, Isaiah, Ezekial, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Malachi, John will also fulfill the prophecy because all were also Jew. However, it befits more on Muhammad (P.B.U.H) in the Bible who is like Moses (P.B.U.H)
  • Both had a father and a mother, while Jesus (P.B.U.H) was born miraculously without any male intervention.
  • Both were married and had children. Jesus according to the Bible did not marry nor had children.
  • Both died natural deaths.
2. Muhammad (P.B.U.H) is from the among the brethren of Moses. Arabs are brethren of Jews. Abraham (P.B.U.H) had two sons. Ishmail and Isaac. Arabs are descendants of Ishmail and the Jews are descendants of Isaac.
3. Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) was unlettered and whatever revelations he received from Almighty God he repeated them verbatim like it is said in the verse by God that I shall put my words in his mouth.

There are other prophecies of Muhammad (P.B.U.H) in the Bible but in this article I have only focused on these few.

Call of Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W)

The lifestyle and Sunnah of Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) calls us spend our life according to the lifestyle of him. Without any shadow of doubt Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) has many Ehsanaat (to do a favor) on this Ummah. One of the Ehsaan (to do a favor) is that He (S.A.W) cried for Ummah.
In other words, He (S.A.W) cried for us. Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) tied stones on his belly. Did not eat anything for three consecutive days though he was prophesized of the fruits of the Paradise (heaven). Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) went through all of these pains though he was only required to say YES to the call of Allah (S.W.T) and the gates of Jannah (Heaven) would have opened and all the blessings would have been showered on him by Al-Mighty Allah. But Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) chose the difficult path. Why? Because He (S.A.W) knew that not all of my Ummah would be blessed with all the blessings. All of them would not have palaces and gardens to live by. Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) ate plain food instead of multiple dished dinners. Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) even ate expired dates. Why did He (S.A.W) do all of that because He (S.A.W) wanted to set an example for us (Ummah).
We have welcomed oppressors and made our tongues impure by lying, backbiting and cheating with ourselves and others. We have misrepresented the religion of Allah and Muhammad (S.A.W) all over the world.

Repentance

So today we need to repent from Allah SWT and make the intention to adopt the Holy, pure, blessed, complete and bright way of life. A blessed way of life is to follow Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W).

Prophet Muhammad – The Teacher of Teachers

Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) was chosen as the last Messenger of Allah. Allah (S.W.T) revealed the last book of guidance for humanity on him. His teachings liberated the mankind from oppressions and evil rituals like idol worshiping, burying daughters alive, walking nude and naked etc. But unfortunately we have astray away from the teachings of Quran and Sunnah, as a result of which Muslims collectively have lost their dignity and repute. Have we forgotten the blood and tears that came out of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) because of his Ummah? But today we have neglected and forgot the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). Some of his beautiful characteristics and glorious teachings are discussed below. Let’s remind ourselves with some of these teachings:

  1. Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) always walked humbly on earth.
  2. Whenever somebody addressed or called Him, he would not just turn his face, rather He (P.B.U.H) would turn his entire body and give that person complete attention.
  3. He (P.B.U.H) always had a smile on his face while talking but He never laughed out loudly.
  4. He (P.B.U.H) joked, but he never told lies and never joked about personal attributes of anyone.
  5. He spoke very gently and He (P.B.U.H) was never harsh in words.
  6. Prophet (P.B.U.H) never found fault in food.
  7. Prophet (P.B.U.H) regularly went to Hira mount and contemplates about the situation of his people and Ummah.
  8. Prophet (P.B.U.H) never generalized, but he was very specific about people and answered them individually.
  9. Prophet (P.B.U.H) commanded us not to kill old people and women less they are fighting with you (Muslims). He abstained us from cutting trees and killing animals. He (P.B.U.H) told not to mutilate the bodies.
